Do I need to be a Marqee member to use the app?
Yes. The app is the mobile companion to your Marqee membership — it's how you approve your strategist's work and stay in the loop between logins. If you're not a member yet, you can start a free 48-hour trial from marqee.com and then download the app to run it from your phone. Membership stays weekly and cancel-anytime — Basic $29, Pro $49, Executive $99.
Can I sign in with Apple or Google?
Yes to both. The app supports Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google as first-class login options, alongside email + password. If you signed up on the web, use the same email — the app finds your account automatically. Sign in with Apple is required by Apple's App Store guidelines whenever another social login is present, and it's the strongest privacy option (you can hide your real email address).
Is my data private? What does Marqee actually see?
Yes. Your search is yours. Your strategist sees the materials you share with them — resume, target roles, application drafts — because that's the job. Marqee never sells your data, never trains an outside model on it, and never shares your search with your current employer. Confidential search mode adds a stealth layer if you're looking while employed. Full details on the privacy page.
Can I use it on both iPhone and iPad?
Yes. The app is universal — one download works on iPhone and iPad, and it adapts the layout for each. On iPad you get a two-pane view for chat + approvals, which is nice on the couch. Handoff is supported, so you can start reading a draft on iPhone and finish it on iPad without losing your place.
Does my strategist see me typing?
Only in chat, and only when you're actively in the thread — same as any modern messaging app. Your strategist sees when you're online and when you're typing a message, but they can't see draft messages you don't send, and they can't see anything you're doing outside chat. If you'd rather turn typing indicators off, there's a toggle in Settings → Privacy.
How do offline messages and approvals work?
Marqee is built to survive spotty coverage. Messages you send offline are queued and delivered the moment you're back on network. Approvals work the same way — tap Approve on the subway, and it fires when you surface. Your strategist sees the timestamp of your original approval, not the delivery, so nothing looks late on your end.
Can I turn off push notifications?
Yes — all of them, or by category. In Settings → Notifications you can toggle: recruiter replies, new drafts, interview reminders, weekly summaries. Focus and Do Not Disturb are respected. If you want the app quiet during work hours, set a schedule. If you want it silent altogether, disable notifications and use the app on your own schedule — nothing breaks.
What if I lose my phone?
Sign in from any other device — web or a new phone — and go to Settings → Devices to revoke access on the lost device. Your strategist can also help; message them from the web and they'll invalidate any active session. Because approvals and chat sync from our servers, nothing about your search is lost. Biometric lock means whoever finds the phone can't open the app without you.
