Alumni · Marqued for life

Once you're Marqued, you're in for good.

Alumni are the founding voice of the Marqee community. An elevated badge in every server, speaker rights in your vertical, the warm-intro network as an ongoing benefit, quarterly VIP dinners, and continued access — even if your paid subscription lapses.

In short

You paid us to run the search. Now the community pays you back — for the rest of your career, whether or not you ever pay us again.

Most career services stop the day you sign the offer. That's the moment we think community starts. Once you've been Marqued, you become an alumnus of Marqee: an elevated badge in the community, speaker rights in the vertical we placed you in, permanent access to the warm-intro network, quarterly in-person dinners in the top ten metros, and an open door to mentor the next cohort if you want to. Nothing about that changes if you never renew your paid subscription. The alumni tier is lifetime by design.

The Marqued badge

The status that follows your name.

Alumni show up differently. A distinct badge, a distinct color, and a distinct set of rights in every Marqee community surface — from vertical servers to cohort rooms to the intro graph.

The badge you keep.

Every alumnus wears the Marqued badge in every Marqee community surface — a small distinguisher next to your name in Discord, in Discourse, in the intro graph, and on the Marqued feed. It signals that you've been through a real end-to-end concierge engagement, that you were placed, and that you're vouched for by a Marqee strategist.

The badge is not tied to your active subscription and it doesn't expire. You keep it whether you go quiet for two years and come back, take a sabbatical, retire, or change verticals entirely.

Seven benefits

What alumni actually get.

Not a mailing list, not a discount code, not a monthly newsletter. Seven concrete rights and channels that sit above the regular community tier — most kick in on the day you sign the offer.

Benefit 01

Elevated badge in every server.

A visible Marqued badge next to your name across every vertical server and Discourse category — the room knows who's been placed, who ran the full engagement, and who's vouched for. Read differently, replied to differently.

Benefit 02

Speaker rights in your vertical.

You can host an AMA, run a workshop, or take the Tuesday hiring-manager slot in the vertical you were placed in without waiting for the moderation queue. Your former strategist co-signs; you own the room for the hour.

Benefit 03

Warm-intro network access.

Permanent, unmetered access to the Marqee intro graph in your vertical. Request an intro to any node inside two hops; a strategist brokers, both sides opt in, and there is no cap on how many you can send while you are actively hiring or job-hunting again.

Benefit 04

Mentor an incoming cohort.

Opt in through your former strategist to be paired with one to three current searchers in your vertical. About 30 minutes a month — a live call, a résumé pass, or an intro. Nothing billed, nothing tracked, no leaderboard.

Benefit 05

Quarterly alumni-only dinners.

Four times a year, small in-person dinners in the top ten metros. Eight to twelve alumni per table plus a Marqee senior strategist. Off the record, no press, no employer pitching. RSVP-only, rotated so a new alum is always at the table.

Benefit 06

Alumni-only AMAs.

Once a quarter, an alumni-only AMA with a headline guest — a founder mid-fundraise, a public-company GC, a CPO going through a re-org — the sort of conversation that would never happen on the public server. Recorded for alumni only, never posted publicly.

Benefit 07

Marqued feed cross-post.

Your placement story goes into the Marqued feed with your consent — one-click cross-post to LinkedIn with a Marqee-drafted caption you approve. Optional; alumni control every word before it publishes and can retract at any time.

Speaker rights, in detail
Speaker · Vertical of placement

The mic in your vertical — without applying for a slot.

Every Marqee server runs weekly programming: Monday office hours, Tuesday hiring-manager AMA, Wednesday résumé clinic, Thursday mocks, Friday employer showcase. Regular members pitch to be on the calendar. Alumni skip the queue in the vertical they were placed in and pick a slot directly with the mod team.

What you can host

An AMA on your placement journey, a workshop on the interview loop you actually beat, or a live take-home walkthrough in the format your vertical uses. Format is yours; mods handle logistics.

Where you speak

The single vertical server you were placed in. Cross-posted to the Marqued feed and (optionally) LinkedIn. Adjacent verticals can invite you as a guest with mod approval.

Co-signed by your strategist

Your former strategist takes the co-host slot on your first alumni session and hands you the room by minute five. After that, you can host solo whenever you want.

The warm-intro engine

Your ongoing benefit, not a Rolodex.

The warm-intro network is the single most-used alumni benefit and it is built to keep working long after your Marqee engagement ends. Every alumnus keeps unmetered access, in every direction.

Step 01 · Request

You ask for an intro in your intro inbox.

Open the alumni intro panel, type the person or the target company, and describe the ask in one paragraph. The panel shows you every node in the graph within two hops — including which strategist can broker.

Step 02 · Broker

A Marqee strategist takes the request.

Your former strategist sees it first; if they're the wrong broker, they pass it to a colleague inside 24 hours. Nothing is sent to the other side until the broker has re-read your ask and confirmed the target is likely to say yes.

Step 03 · Opt-in

Both sides opt in explicitly.

The target is asked in writing — with your one-paragraph ask attached and a preview of your profile — whether they want the intro. Silence is a no. Nothing is sent until both sides have said yes.

Step 04 · The intro

The strategist writes the actual email.

You never draft the intro. The broker writes it, cc's both sides, and vouches specifically — because they know you both. Alumni get the highest broker-vouched conversion rate in the network.

Step 05 · Loop closed

Feedback goes back into the graph.

Two weeks later the broker checks in with both sides. What worked, what didn't, whether the intro should route the same way next time. The graph learns per-alum, per-vertical, per-strategist — it doesn't decay.

Mentorship

Opt-in, unpaid, kept small.

Alumni mentorship is the second-most requested benefit — from current searchers who want to hear how someone in their shoes made it through. We built it to be light on the mentor and useful to the mentee.

How it starts

You tell your former strategist.

Send one line: "I want to mentor." Your strategist matches you with one to three current searchers in your vertical inside seven days. You can pause any time; you can name maximums; you can request specific profiles.

The commitment

About 30 minutes a month.

One 20-minute live call plus a couple of async responses to specific questions. Not a coaching engagement; not a résumé-review sweatshop. Small, specific, useful — the way you wanted a mentor when you were searching.

What you don't do

No cold intros, no career coaching.

Mentors don't do free career coaching, don't cold-intro mentees into their network, and don't refer them to Marqee. Warm intros still go through the broker; strategy still comes from the strategist. You bring lived experience, not a second job.

Alumni dinners

Quarterly, in-person, off the record.

Four times a year, the ten top metros. Small tables. No press, no employers pitching, no photos posted anywhere. The one alumni ritual that only exists in a room, not on a screen.

If your subscription lapses

Nothing important changes.

The alumni tier is lifetime. We built the boundary deliberately: your paid concierge subscription is for running a search; your alumni access is for having been through one. They come apart cleanly.

Story sharing

The Marqued feed, and the one-click cross-post.

Placement stories used to be trapped inside the strategist's head. Now they go into the Marqued feed and — if the alumnus wants — onto LinkedIn with a caption we drafted for you and you approved.

Marqued feed · Sample post · Marqee Product

"Six weeks in, VP Product at a Series B fintech — after three months of applying alone."

"I started with Marqee thinking I'd get help with the résumé. What I got was a full loop — targeting, outreach through the side door, a hiring-manager warm intro, and a pass on the offer negotiation. The interview loop was three companies at once. I picked the one I wanted."

Marqued feed · Sample post · Marqee Design

"From agency creative director to in-house head of brand, with a strategist who knew the difference."

"The agency-to-in-house transition kills most designers because the interview loops don't map. My Marqee strategist ran a full portfolio rewrite for in-house scope, put me in front of two heads of design who'd made the same jump, and helped me negotiate a title that opens the next door."

FAQ

Alumni, answered.

Anyone who has completed a Marqee concierge engagement — meaning we ran the search on your behalf and it ended in a signed offer, or an intentional pause that you and your strategist agreed to. Alumni status is not tied to the tier you were on, not tied to the length of the engagement, and not tied to whether you renewed. Once you've been Marqued, you carry the badge for life.

Yes. Once you've been Marqued, your alumni membership is lifetime and free. You keep the warm-intro network, speaker rights in your vertical, the alumni dinners, the alumni-only AMAs, and every alumni channel — even if you never renew paid concierge service. The only thing you lose when the subscription lapses is the ability to have a new active search run for you by a strategist.

In the vertical you were placed in, you can host an AMA, run a workshop, take the Tuesday hiring-manager slot, or lead a résumé clinic without applying for a slot. The mod team gives you a calendar; you pick. Your former strategist co-signs the first session and steps back for the rest. Adjacent verticals can invite you as a guest with mod approval.

It is opt-in. If you want to mentor incoming cohort members, you tell your former strategist and get paired with one to three current searchers in your vertical inside seven days. Commitment is about 30 minutes a month — one 20-minute call plus a couple of async replies. Nothing is billed, nothing is tracked, no leaderboard. You can pause, cap, or step out at any time.

Small — eight to twelve alumni around one table, plus a senior Marqee strategist. A private room in a good restaurant, no press, no photos posted anywhere, no employer pitching. RSVPs are capped and rotated so a new alumnus is always at the table. We pay for the meal and the bar tab. Alumni pay for nothing.

Yes. Alumni get a one-click cross-post from the Marqued feed to LinkedIn with a Marqee-drafted caption, tagged with the vertical and the strategist who ran your engagement. You review and approve every word before it publishes — nothing goes out without your explicit sign-off. You can retract at any time; the feed forgets on request.

No — alumni status only comes from completing a Marqee engagement. You can nominate people you'd like to see in the community (as regular members or into the executive tier), and you can invite people to your alumni dinner as a plus-one, but the Marqued badge itself is earned through the concierge engagement, not conferred by another alum.

Yes, and it's smooth. Alumni get a fast re-onboarding into concierge service — same strategist if they're still on staff, same intro graph, same vertical positioning. Because the graph never forgot you, we don't restart the discovery phase; we pick up where we left off.

The community starts
the day you sign the offer.

Alumni access is lifetime, unmetered, and free. The Marqued badge goes on the day your placement closes.
