Changelog

What we shipped, week by week.

A running, public log of the work behind Marqee — member app, website, Backstage tools, policy, and the occasional incident. Dated, honest, linked where it helps.

Updated July 12, 2026 · weekly cadence

The cadence is weekly, the tone is honest, and nothing here is a marketing swing. Every Friday we write down what actually landed in the previous seven days — the things members can see and touch, the infrastructure under the floorboards, and the policy changes that shape how we work. If we shipped it, it goes here. If we broke it, that goes here too. The log skips the noise (typo fixes, dependency bumps, one-line copy edits) so the pattern of movement stays legible — but everything material has a home. If you're a member, this is where to look before you ask "is that new?" If you're weighing whether to join, this is the receipt.

Guarantee, samples, an estimator — and the member app enters internal beta.

WebsiteMember appBackstage

A big surface week. The refund and promise page went public, the sample-work library opened up, an interactive pricing estimator landed, and the first internal build of the member app went out to strategists for dogfooding.

  • Published Our Promise & Refund Policy — the three-part promise, clearly defined refund windows (48-hour no-questions, 30-day performance floor, prorated after that), and three ways to request a refund.
  • Published Samples — real, redacted examples of a tailored résumé, a cover letter, and a recruiter outreach message. Every artifact links back to the human process behind it.
  • Refreshed How it works with the assisted-vs-done-for-you split, a clearer "on your behalf" section, and pointers to the samples above.
  • Shipped Pricing Estimator — pick a search intensity and a time horizon, get a plain estimate across weekly plans and Sprints, no email wall.
  • Launched case-studies bundle on Results — the first four narrative studies, each one covering the search, the side door that opened, and the offer window.
  • Member app entered internal beta — strategists now run one live search inside the app end-to-end. Members see the current dashboard for another week; the flip is Jul 25.

Reviews, the side door, and the audience-page mesh.

Website

A quieter week aimed at the marketing surface — the pages a prospective member reads before they ever open a chat window. The goal was fewer dead ends and a straighter path from "who is this for" to "here's what it costs."

  • Shipped Reviews — a wall of verbatim, sourced quotes with dates and role context. Nothing invented, and no anonymized filler.
  • Shipped The side door — a standalone page for the outreach + referral channel that actually converts to interviews.
  • Meshed the six audience pages (new grads, professionals, executives, career changers, visa & intl talent, underrepresented talent) with consistent structure, cross-links, and a shared FAQ block.
  • Redirected a stale batch of legacy URLs from the old brand to the correct marqee.com pages. 301s only — no soft redirects, no interstitials.

Marqee is Marqee. Domain migration complete.

WebsiteMember appPolicy

The brand name and the primary domain are locked. The site now lives at marqee.com; every canonical, every og:url, every canonical schema.org URL is aligned. The member app scaffold went in, and the community platform opened to founding members.

  • RenameMarqee is the final brand, marqee.com is the primary domain. The interim domain now 301s to canonical. Nothing in your account changed; billing continued uninterrupted.
  • Repointed all outbound links, footer, transactional email templates, and the tracker's shareable URLs.
  • Member app scaffold merged — React Native, one codebase for iOS and Android, feature-flagged behind an internal beta gate for now.
  • Community platform v1 opened to founding members — a private space for members, strategists, and alumni to trade notes, offers, and receipts.
  • Policy — clarified in the terms that we never sell or share member data; also documented our data-retention windows explicitly (30-day working, 24-month archive on request).

The Ranking Surfaces Playbook v2 shipped internally.

BackstageWebsite

Every marketing page and every long-form article on Marqee is now written to a single, internal playbook. v2 tightened the section shapes, tuned the schema.org patterns, and standardized the FAQ + Speakable blocks.

  • Locked the section grammar for audience pages, service pages, and article pages — the same reader lands in the same shape every time.
  • Standardized the FAQ block, the breadcrumb block, and the WebPage Speakable selectors so voice-surface answers stay consistent across the site.
  • Published the editorial standards page at editorial-standards.html — the rules we hold every article to, in public.
  • Retired two legacy templates that predated the playbook, and rewrote the six pages that used them.

500 occupations mapped. 51 verticals live.

Backstage

The occupation taxonomy — the backbone the whole strategist workflow leans on — crossed 500 mapped roles this week. Every occupation has a canonical title, alias set, ATS keyword list, and a matched pool of active job boards.

  • Occupation coverage — 500 canonical roles, mapped to O*NET codes and to our internal alias graph so the strategist sees the same role no matter what the posting calls it.
  • Verticals — 51 industry verticals live, each with its own outreach playbook and referral map.
  • ATS keyword library — 12,000+ keywords with role and vertical weights, used to score both applications going out and the postings coming in.
  • Deprecated the old free-text role tagger. Every existing member search was re-mapped to the canonical taxonomy overnight; no member action needed.

100+ articles published.

Website

The blog crossed a hundred long-form pieces this week. Every one is written by a strategist or an editor on the team, every one is dated, and every one carries a byline and a source list.

  • Milestone — 100 articles on the blog, ranging from the mechanics of the side door to how a good weekly readout should read.
  • Bylines now render on every article, with a link to the author's strategist profile on the team page.
  • Reading time + last-updated date shown at the top of every piece. Undated advice is stale advice.
  • Guides hub — the six most-linked pieces are now curated on guides.html as an entry point.

The founding-member charter opened.

Policy

A small, defined charter for the first cohort — locked pricing for as long as they stay members, a direct line into product feedback, and a permanent role in the community. In writing, in public.

  • Locked pricing for the founding cohort — Basic $29, Pro $49, Executive $99, held for as long as the account stays continuously active, even after the public rate changes.
  • Charter seat in the private community, and monthly roundtables with the founding team.
  • Cap — 250 seats. When the cap is hit, the charter closes; there's no waitlist gaming.
  • Committed in writing that we won't rewrite the charter after the fact. If the terms change, they only apply to new joiners, and the change is announced here in this changelog.

First outside strategist hire process kicked off.

BackstagePolicy

Marqee is human-led, which means the ceiling on how many members we can serve is the ceiling on how many strategists we can hire well. The formal hiring process started this week.

  • Job posted — Senior Career Strategist, remote, full-time, on careers.html. Real salary band, real scorecard, real interview loop.
  • Scorecard published internally: five must-haves, three nice-to-haves, and the two failure modes we screen for hard.
  • Onboarding runway — a documented 30-day ramp so a new strategist owns their first search by day 21, not day 60.
  • Policy — codified that no strategist ever owns more than a fixed member load. If demand exceeds capacity, we open a waitlist before we compromise the ratio.

Backstage v1 goes public.

BackstageWebsite

The free, self-serve layer of career tools shipped as a public v1. The idea, in one line: prep Backstage, step into the spotlight, headline the marquee.

  • Résumé builder — recruiter-tested, ATS-ready templates with a live preview. Free to build, free PDF download with a free account.
  • Cover-letter builder — one focused letter per role, not a form blasted everywhere.
  • Personal site builder — a one-page site at marqee.com/@username, hosted and kept online.
  • Marqee Score, Recruiter Finder, and Résumé Tailor — the three self-serve tools that answer "am I ready," "who do I reach," and "how do I fit this role."
  • Free tools hub at free-tools.html — one landing page for the whole Backstage layer.

Not everything is here. Small fixes and internal work skip the changelog — the log would drown otherwise. If you want to see the behind-the-scenes movement in real time, join the community — that's where the daily receipts live.
