Our promise

If we don't earn our seat, you don't pay for it.

Three things we hold ourselves to on every account, and a refund policy that doesn't require a lawyer to parse. No guarantees on outcomes we can't control — a firm one on the work we can.

What you're buying

Three promises we make to every member.

They're identical on Basic, Pro, and Executive — because they aren't feature flags. They're how the service works. If any of them stops being true, the refund terms below give you a clean exit.

Promise 01

A human strategist, always. Never a bot, never a ticket queue.

You get a real person with a name, a face, and a working knowledge of the market you're searching in. They read your background, learn the shape of your target roles, and own the search end to end. Same person, week after week — not a rotating pool of contractors picking up whichever ticket was oldest in the queue.

When you message us, you're messaging them. When you ask a strategic question at 9pm, you get a strategic answer, not a canned reply pointing to a help article. The relationship is the product. Everything else is scaffolding around it.

Named strategist · direct chat · continuity of context
Promise 02

You approve every send. If it goes out, you saw it.

Every application, every recruiter message, every referral note, every résumé edit — it queues for your approval before it leaves. You tap approve, tweak, or reject in the dashboard. There is no "we'll surprise you" mode. There is no bulk-blast setting hiding under a checkbox somewhere.

The reason is simple: your name is on it. If a recruiter opens a message that sounds off, or an application lands with a phrase you'd never use, the cost lands on your reputation, not ours. So we hand you the pen. Your strategist drafts, you decide, and only then does it ship.

Zero silent sends · your final say · full audit trail
Promise 03

A weekly readout you can act on. No vanity metrics.

Every week you get a written readout from your strategist. What went out, what came back, what patterns are showing up in the responses, and — the part that matters — what we're changing next week because of it. It reads like a peer briefing, not a dashboard export.

You will not find impressions, "profile views," "opportunity scores," or any other number designed to look busy without meaning anything. If a metric can't be tied to a decision you're about to make, it doesn't belong in your readout. If a pattern is visible, we surface it before you have to ask.

Written by your strategist · signal, not noise · read in five minutes
Refund terms · written for humans

Four windows. Written for humans.

These apply to every weekly plan and to any add-on you've bolted onto it. No legal-ese, no asterisks that unpack into a page of caveats. If a situation isn't covered here word-for-word, ask your strategist and we'll write it down in the same style.

Window 1 · 48 hours

Full refund, no questions asked.

You signed up, slept on it, decided it's not for you. That's fine. Cancel inside the first 48 hours and we refund every dollar — regardless of whether we've started sourcing roles, drafted materials, or already sent applications on your behalf. This is a real cooling-off window, not a fine-print trap.

Window 2 · 30 days

No application sent by us? Full refund.

If thirty days go by from your signup date and we have not submitted a single application on your behalf, you're entitled to a full refund of everything you've paid. This is our performance floor. It exists so we can never take your money and vanish into a slow ramp — if we're not producing, you're not paying.

Window 3 · any billing cycle

Prorated refund on the unused portion.

Past the initial windows, you can stop the plan mid-cycle and we refund the unused portion, straight-line prorated by day. Cancel two days into a seven-day week and you get roughly five sevenths of the week back. There is no early-termination fee, no minimum term, and no penalty for changing your mind.

Window 4 · always

Cancel any time, any channel.

Cancel in the app, by email to hello@marqee.com, or by asking your strategist directly in chat. All three carry the same weight — there is no "official" channel that unlocks a hidden retention flow. When you say cancel, we cancel. Confirmation lands in your inbox within the hour so you have it on paper.

Honest boundaries

What we don't cover, and why.

A refund policy is only worth reading if it says what's outside it. Three categories don't fall under the promise, and pretending otherwise would just make the rest of this page ring hollow.

Outcomes — offers, salary numbers, headcount decisions.

We can't refund a rejection any more than a lawyer can refund a verdict. Hiring is the market's call — a hundred variables we don't touch, from role scoping to internal candidates to a budget freeze that landed the morning your interview did. We promise the work, not the market's decision.

Market slowdowns in the space you're searching in.

If the sector you're targeting freezes hiring for a quarter, or a wave of layoffs floods the top of every funnel with senior candidates, we don't get to reset the clock. We'll say so plainly in your weekly readout and recommend adjacent targets. What we won't do is refund on the theory that a bad market was somehow our fault.

Scope changes we can't fulfill inside your tier.

If you signed up for Basic and midway want the outreach, referral, and coaching depth of Executive, that's an upsize — not a refund. We'll happily switch you up or down between tiers on the next cycle; but a request that outgrows what you're paying for isn't grounds for reversing what you already paid.

How to request

Three ways in. All equally valid.

No forms to hunt for, no retention agent to argue with. Any of these starts your refund the same day.

1By email

Email hello@marqee.com.

Say the word "refund" in the subject or body. You do not need to explain yourself, cite a policy line, or attach anything. Include your account email if you're writing from a different address so we can find you fast.

hello@marqee.com
2In-app

Or tap Cancel in Settings.

Inside your dashboard, Settings → Billing → Cancel plan. The flow asks whether you want to pause, downgrade, or refund. Pick refund and the request lands with billing immediately. Your access continues through the paid period so nothing is severed unexpectedly.

Settings → Billing → Cancel
3By chat

Or ask your strategist.

Message your strategist in the chat panel and ask to start a refund. They can trigger it on your behalf without a warm handoff to a support team you've never talked to. This is often the fastest path if your strategist is already active on your account.

Chat → "start a refund"

Refunds land back on the original payment method in 3 – 5 business days. Card networks sometimes take longer to post the credit — that's on your bank's clock, not ours.

DIY vs Marqee

What the math actually looks like.

Not a competitor comparison — a look at the honest arithmetic between running your search yourself and letting a strategist run it. Ranges are wide because your situation is not average, and neither is anyone else's.

Line item Doing it yourself With a Marqee plan
Your time per weekHands-on-keyboard hours 8 – 15 hours: sourcing, tailoring, filling out portal fields, following up. ~1 hour of your review time on approvals, drafts, and the weekly readout.
Interviews per monthIllustrative target range 0 – 2 in a typical solo search, depending on market and role fit. 3 – 8 (target) — the range we shape our sourcing and outreach around.
Cost per interviewAll-in economics $XX – $XXX in tools, résumé writers, subscriptions, and swallowed time. $29 – $99 flat per week regardless of pipeline volume — Basic, Pro, or Executive.
Continuity across weeksContext that compounds You are the memory. A missed week resets momentum you had to rebuild yourself. Your strategist holds the context so a slow week doesn't cost you the thread.
What you actually ownSkills, materials, network Everything — including the search-related admin you didn't want to own. The materials and relationships we build for you are yours to keep after you leave.

Illustrative targets, not guaranteed outcomes. Actual results depend on your market, background, and the intensity of the tier you're on.

FAQ

The questions this page hasn't answered yet.

The promise covers the work, not the market's decision. Concretely: a real, named strategist owns your search; every application, message, and edit gets your approval before it leaves; and every week you get a clear readout of what went out, what came back, and what changes next. If any of that stops being true, our refund terms kick in and you can walk with your money.

The first 48 hours are a no-questions-asked window: change your mind for any reason and we refund in full. The 30-day window is a performance floor — if by day 30 we haven't sent a single application on your behalf, you get a full refund regardless of what week you're in. The two overlap; you're covered by whichever one applies to your situation.

On any billing cycle after the initial windows, you can stop the plan and get back the unused portion of that cycle — the days remaining divided by the days in the cycle, times the amount you paid. Nothing tricky. If you cancel three days into a seven-day Pro week ($49), you get about $28 back. Refunds land in three to five business days.

Because we don't make the hiring decision, and any firm that promises otherwise is either being loose with the truth or building the guarantee out of asterisks. Hiring is the market's call. What we can and do promise is the shape and quality of the work, and a refund path if we drop it.

Three ways, all equally valid. Email hello@marqee.com and say the word refund. Tap Cancel in Settings inside your dashboard and pick the refund option in the flow. Or ask your strategist directly in chat — they can start it for you. Refunds land back on the original payment method within three to five business days.

The three promises are identical at every tier — human strategist, your approval on every send, weekly readout. Refund windows are identical too. What differs across Basic ($29/wk), Pro ($49/wk), and Executive ($99/wk) is scope: how many applications a week, whether custom cover letters and outreach are included, and turnaround priority. The tier changes the volume, not the promise.

Say so in chat or email hello@marqee.com. We'll rematch you inside the same billing cycle at no cost. If a rematch isn't possible or you'd rather leave, the refund terms apply — the 48-hour window, the 30-day performance floor, or a prorated refund on the unused portion of the cycle, whichever fits.

Stop applying.
Start interviewing.

Backed by the three promises above and a refund path you can invoke from three different channels. If we don't earn our seat at your table, you can take it back — same day.
