Roadmap

What's shipping, and when.

An honest, public view of the work: what's in flight this quarter, what we're targeting next, what we're aiming at further out, and the short list of things we've decided we won't do. Written for founding members and investors, not for search engines.

How we roadmap

Targets, not promises.

Every date on this page is a target, not a promise. Software estimates slip, hiring cycles slip, and honest quarters slip too. The commitment we can actually keep is this: every item that appears here either ships in the window we set, or it moves — and when it moves, we write down where it went and why, in the ship log, on the same day. Nothing quietly disappears. Nothing gets renamed to look like it never existed. If a founding member is depending on an item, they hear from a human before the public page changes.

The four columns below are horizons, not phases. Now is the quarter we're inside — items with named owners, a weekly demo cadence, and skin-in-the-game deadlines. Next is the quarter after — sketches in review, dependencies mapped, hiring aligned. Later is the year — real commitments we haven't sequenced yet. Won't do is the discipline column: things we've decided against, either forever or for the foreseeable future, and the reason we've decided. Being explicit about a "no" is as important to us as being explicit about a "yes."

You'll see four status pills on the cards. Shipping means it's in the hands of real members this quarter. In design means the shape is being drawn — flows, screens, contracts. Scoped means it has a spec and an estimated cost, but nobody is building it today. Parked means it's off the list, with a note on why. When a card changes state, the change lands in the changelog the same day.

Being worked this quarter. Named owners, weekly demos, dogfooded internally before members see it.

Founding Strategist onboarding + first 3 member searches

Our first strategist joins full-time and starts running searches for three charter members end-to-end. This is the loop everything else optimizes against — every subsequent tool, template, and hire has to make this loop cleaner or faster.

Shipping

Member web app + strategist Backstage v1

Member-facing dashboard for approvals, tracker, and weekly readouts. The strategist side gives one place to draft, queue, and log the week's work — so the audit trail on your search is complete, not scattered across email and spreadsheets.

In design

Member mobile app (iOS + Android public beta)

Native shells for approvals-on-the-go, push notifications when a role needs a decision, and a lightweight tracker view. Beta opens to founding members first and expands cohort-by-cohort as the crash-and-crashlytics tail settles down.

Shipping

Concierge live-chat with streaming replies

Real-time, human-first chat between members and strategists, with streaming so replies feel immediate. Threaded, searchable, and archived to your file so a rematch or a return visit six months later has full context to walk into.

Shipping

Founding-member cohort (charter 100 seats)

The first 100 seats, priced and treated as charter members. Direct line to the founders, weekly sync, and a permanent badge on the account that carries over to every future tier we launch.

Later

Real, but far. On the map because we've committed to them; not sequenced beyond the calendar year they're in.

Scoped

International Wave 1 (UK, Canada, Australia)

Three English-speaking markets we can serve with the same strategist model, localized comp benchmarks, and market-specific role sourcing. Each wave adds one senior strategist per country before we open seats, not after.

Scoped

Enterprise / HR Partner tier

A version of Marqee that outplacement teams and university career offices can offer to their people, without diluting the concierge model. Structured as a co-branded seat, billed to the partner, with the member's data still owned by the member.

Scoped

Alumni network + warm-intro-for-life

Once a member lands, they don't just leave. A private alumni layer opens up warm intros in both directions — for their next move, and for the next cohort behind them. The point is a lifetime relationship, not a lifetime subscription.

Scoped

Multi-media pipeline (YouTube + podcast)

Long-form storytelling around member journeys and strategist thinking. Owned channels, not sponsorships, so the voice stays ours and the archive belongs to us regardless of what any platform algorithm decides next year.

Scoped

Vertical-specific advisory boards

Small, invited boards of practitioners in specific verticals — finance, product, design, engineering — who help our strategists stay sharp on how those markets actually hire this year, not how they hired the year before we started.

Parked or refused

Won't do

The short list of things people ask for that we've decided against. Being explicit here is part of the honesty stance.

Never

Selling member data

Not to recruiters, not to data brokers, not to advertisers, not as anonymized aggregates that a good analyst could re-identify. Member data exists to serve the member — that's the entire contract, and it's a contract we'd rather turn down revenue than break.

Never

Automating member communications end-to-end

The whole point of Marqee is that a human is in the loop on outreach, applications, and edits. Fully unattended sends aren't a feature we've delayed — they're a feature we've refused. If we ever ship it, we're a different company.

Parked

Ad-supported free tier

Ads sold against member profiles would put the business model in conflict with the member's interest. Backstage stays free the way it's free today: because a small share of users pay for the concierge, and that pays for the free layer everyone else uses.

Never

Naming competitors in comparisons

A brand rule, not a marketing choice. We describe what we do and let members compare on their own terms. You won't see a versus grid on this site — and if you spot one, tell us, because it shouldn't be there.

How to influence the roadmap

The people who use it get to shape it.

Priorities on this page are set with real member votes when items are close, not by whichever product manager talked loudest in the room. Here are the three ways to get an idea, an objection, or a hard requirement onto the list — and where each of them lands in the process.

Founding-member weekly sync

A recurring 30-minute call for charter members. We show what shipped, what moved, what's next up, and open the floor to what should be there and isn't.

Community Discord

A working channel — #roadmap — for open discussion between members, prospects, and strategists. Where votes get counted when two items are close in priority.

Email hello@marqee.com

The slower, higher-signal channel. Anything sent here gets read by a human at Marqee and, if it's on-topic for the roadmap, forwarded into the working doc for the next planning round.

The receipts

Ship log: what actually shipped.

The roadmap is the plan. The changelog is the record. Every dated release, every item that moved between quarters, and every parked idea that came back — logged in one place, chronological, readable, and never rewritten after the fact. If you want to know whether we do what we say we'll do, that's the page to read alongside this one.
