Q1 · Applying for youHow does Marqee apply to jobs on my behalf?

A named career strategist owns each submission from start to finish. They target a role where you genuinely compete, tailor your resume and any cover note to it, complete the application, and submit it. AI does the heavy lifting in the engine room; a human makes every call.

In Assisted mode — available on every plan — nothing sends until you approve it, and each application goes out from your own account. You stay in control the whole way.

Q2 · ModesWhat's the difference between Assisted and Done-for-you?

Both modes tailor every application per role by a real expert. Only the final approval step changes:

  • Assisted (every plan): your strategist prepares each application and message, and nothing sends until you tap approve — and it sends from your own account.
  • Done-for-you (Executive): you authorize your strategist to submit and send directly on your behalf, so you can stay fully hands-off.

You choose the level of control, and you can switch back to approving each item at any time.

Q3 · ControlDoes anything get sent without my approval?

No. In Assisted mode nothing leaves until you approve it, and every send goes out from your own account, in your voice. Done-for-you only sends after you've explicitly authorized your strategist to submit on your behalf.

There is no autopilot you didn't switch on. Access is scoped only to what you connect, used solely with your consent, and revocable at any time.

Q4 · ApprovalsHow do approvals work day to day?

Prepared applications and messages appear in your dashboard as a simple review queue. For each one you can:

  • Open it and read the tailored resume and note before anything goes out.
  • Edit the wording, adjust the tone, or fix a detail.
  • Approve, ask for changes, or skip the role entirely.
  • Approve one at a time, or clear a batch in a single pass.

Nothing in the queue sends on its own — it waits for you.

Q5 · Recruiter outreachHow does recruiter outreach work?

Applications alone rarely move; the people behind them do. For priority roles your strategist identifies the recruiter or hiring manager tied to the opening and drafts a tailored message in your voice — never a copy-paste template.

  • The right contact for each priority role is found for you.
  • Follow-ups are timed and tracked, so good leads don't go cold.
  • On Assisted you approve before it sends; on Done-for-you it sends with your authorization.

Q6 · The side doorWhat is referral discovery, or "the side door"?

A warm referral is the single highest-converting way into a company — the side door past the application pile. Your strategist finds the paths you didn't know you had and helps you use them, without the awkward cold-ask.

  • We surface first- and second-degree connections inside your target companies.
  • We draft the warm-intro ask so it's easy to send and easy to say yes to.
  • Referral routes are prioritized alongside direct applications, never as an afterthought.

Q7 · TailoringHow are my materials tailored to each role?

One generic resume is why most applications disappear. Marqee tailors your materials to each specific role so you read like the obvious shortlist — and so you clear the ATS instead of getting filtered out by it.

  • Your resume is reworked per role around the language and signals that posting rewards.
  • A tailored cover note is added only when it moves the needle — never as filler.
  • ATS-aware formatting and keyword alignment, checked by a human before it goes out.

Q8 · Quality, not spamDo you just blast my resume everywhere?

No. Marqee never mass-applies generic forms. Every application is tailored to a specific role by a real expert and built to pass modern ATS screening.

We optimize for interviews, not raw volume — because mass-submitted, generic applications are precisely what modern screening filters out. A real person applying deliberately is the opposite of a bot blasting forms into the void.

Q9 · DefinitionsWhat counts as a submission?

A submission is one tailored application completed and sent for one role — through the company's application channel — or, where it's the better path, a tailored recruiter or referral outreach for that role.

  • Editing, re-tailoring, or follow-ups on a role you've already submitted to don't count as new submissions.
  • Your free 48-hour trial includes up to 3 submissions — no card required.

Q10 · VolumeHow many applications go out each week?

It depends on your plan and how selective your target roles are.

  • Basic ($29/wk) & Pro ($49/wk): focused on quality-matched roles where you genuinely compete.
  • Executive ($99/wk): supports up to 100 tailored applications per week.

We optimize for interviews, not raw volume, so we won't pad numbers with roles that aren't a fit.

Q11 · Editing outreachCan I review or change an outreach message before it's sent?

Yes. In Assisted mode every recruiter and referral message waits in your queue for review. You can read it, edit the wording, adjust the tone, or decline to send — it only goes out from your account once you approve.

On Done-for-you, you set the guidance up front and authorize your strategist to send, so it matches your voice without each-message approval.

Q12 · Your accountAre applications and messages sent from my own account?

In Assisted mode, yes — approved applications and outreach go out from your own account, in your voice, so they're genuinely from you.

Access is scoped only to what you connect, used solely with your consent, and revocable at any time. We never mass-apply as you behind your back. To add roles you want pursued, or to stop a submission, decline it in your queue or tell your strategist — see adding & stopping roles below.

Bonus · Staying in controlWhat if I want to add my own target roles or stop a submission?

You're in control. Add roles you want pursued and your strategist will tailor and queue them. To stop something:

  • Decline it in your review queue before approving.
  • Tell your strategist to pause a company or channel.
  • On Done-for-you, pause direct sending anytime and switch back to approving each one.
