The Marqee Advisor Council — 15 career-industry leaders shaping the future of career concierge.
A formalized board of recruiters, HR leaders, career coaches, TA executives, and career educators. They meet quarterly, hold equity, write for our members, and set the standard for what a real career service should be. Applications are open.
Target composition of the 15-seat council.
Every seat is scoped to a specific perspective on hiring. We're not looking for 15 versions of the same person — we're deliberately balancing lived experience across the whole hiring stack.
Talent acquisition executives
Current or recent VP / Head of TA at series-C+ or public tech, healthcare, or financial services companies. Have owned req volume at scale.
CHROs & people leaders
CHRO / CPO experience. Understand the full lifecycle — comp bands, promotion criteria, why candidates get passed at panel review.
Senior recruiters & sourcers
15+ years in-house or agency recruiting across at least two functional areas. Split across tech, GTM, and finance/ops disciplines.
Independent career coaches
Built independent practices with paid clients. Bring the coach's ear for what actually shifts a candidate's confidence during a search.
Career educators & authors
Published authors, professors of career development, or leaders of large career-content platforms. Voice that reaches beyond LinkedIn.
Legal, DEI, executive search
Employment attorney, DEI leader with hiring-audit experience, and retained executive search partner. Cover the edges of the hiring stack.
What advisors get — and what they commit.
Advisor Council terms are formal, disclosed, and identical across every seat. No sweetheart deals. No verbal side letters. If it isn't listed here, it isn't part of the arrangement.

What council members actually do.
The council isn't decorative. It's a working group with quarterly rhythm, published output, and public voice.
Quarterly review
A 90-minute council working session: real member outcomes, product decisions on the table, market patterns Marqee's team is seeing. Honest feedback, not a rubber stamp.
Signed intros
Advisors introduce Marqee to people they'd genuinely vouch for — strategist candidates, first-cohort members, employer partners, journalists. One intro per quarter, minimum.
Published voice
Every advisor publishes at least one bylined essay per year on the Marqee blog and joins the Marqee podcast for a recorded conversation. Their name, their view.
Compensated properly
Equity, quarterly cash, and expenses covered for the annual summit. If someone doesn't have time to engage meaningfully, they don't join. It's that simple.
Advisors are the voice of Marqee's editorial.
The council doesn't just meet privately. Each member brings their voice into public through two channels: bylined essays on the Marqee blog and long-form conversation on the Marqee podcast tour.
Essays on the Marqee blog
Every council member publishes at least one bylined essay per year. Real perspective from inside the hiring stack — not the sanitized LinkedIn version. Marqee's editorial team supports drafting, but the byline and view are the advisor's.
- Topic scoping call with the editorial lead
- Two rounds of edit, advisor-approved final
- Cross-posted to advisor's own site with canonical to Marqee
- Distributed through Marqee's cohort newsletter and community
Marqee podcast tour
A rolling podcast series featuring council members in long-form conversation about how hiring actually works — what recruiters see that candidates don't, and what a real career service should be doing. Video, audio, and clip-cut for social.
- 60-minute recorded conversation with the founder
- Full production: video, audio, transcript, show notes
- Advisor gets raw and edited files for their own channels
- Distributed on YouTube, Spotify, Apple, and Marqee's site
The Marqee Advisor Summit.
Once a year, the full council convenes in person for two days. Working sessions on where the industry is heading, private previews of Marqee's roadmap, and dinners with the founding team and select cohort alumni. Travel and lodging covered.
Summit agenda (draft)
- Day 1 AM — State of the hiring market, council roundtable
- Day 1 PM — Marqee roadmap preview + working critique
- Day 1 evening — Founder dinner with select alumni
- Day 2 AM — Cohort case studies, live outcome review
- Day 2 PM — Editorial planning + podcast recording block
